Regional Early Education and Development Inc. (REED) was established in 2018 in response to challenges identified by Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) services across more than 20 communities in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt region. As a not-for-profit incorporated association and a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission, REED reinvests any surplus to support the provision of high-standard care and education.

Since its inception, REED has expanded significantly, now operating over 23 childcare services across the Wheatbelt, Midwest and South West regions of Western Australia with plans to incorporate more services in 2023. The organization is staffed and managed by individuals who live and work in these rural communities or have strong ties to them, reflecting REED’s commitment to fostering thriving regional areas.

REED’s mission is to ensure that children thrive in high-quality services, families have access to necessary education and care services and vibrant communities are strengthened. The organization values quality, partnership, respect and inclusion, innovation and curiosity and integrity.

In recognition of its impact, REED was named a Not-for-Profit/Charity of the Year finalist in the 2022 RISE Business Awards.
